From precision digital fabrication to classic shop tools, these are the machines students use to learn design, build prototypes and test ideas safely and professionally.

Digital Fabrication

Prusa Print Farm

Prusa 3-D Print Farm

Prusa MK3's are reliable 3-D printers that run around the clock to print student parts. These printers use Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) with PLA, and we also use ABS when extra strength is needed.

  • Build volume: ~256 × 256 × 256 mm
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm
  • Materials: PLA, ABS (plus others)

Bambu Labs X1 Carbon 3D printer

3-D Printers: Bambu Labs X1 Carbon

This printer is ~50% faster than most traditional FDM printers. It features an enclosed chamber for even heating and a material system that allows for multi-color prints.

  • Build volume: ~256 × 256 × 256 mm
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm
  • Materials: PLA, ABS (plus others)
Digital FabAdditive
Peopoly SLA 3D printer

3-D Printers: Peopoly SLA Printer

SLA printing for ultimate precision. Uses UV-curable resin and is ideal for extremely small, highly detailed parts.

  • Build volume: ~13.6 × 17.6 × 15.7 in
  • Materials: UV resin

Computer Numeric Control (CNC) & Milling

Benchtop milling machine cutting aluminum

CNC: Tormach PCNC 770 S3

Precision Computer Numeric Controlled milling for plastics and soft metals. CNC machines allow students to create 3D models and manufacture them out of a variety of materials including metal. CNC milling is referred to as "subtractive manufacturing" vs. an "additive process" like 3-D printing."

tablesaw

Saw Stop Tablesaw

SawStop is an advanced safety technology that uses a retractable blade system designed to instantly stop and drop the blade upon detecting contact with human skin, preventing serious injury. Table saws are used to make straight repeatable cuts in materials.

  • SawStop Safety System
  • Throat: 20in
Woodshop
spindle sander

Spindle Sanders

Spindle sanders are used to quickly and efficiently sand wood, create edges and smooth holes and concave edges.

Woodshop
miter saw

Miter Saw

A miter saw is the primary tool for cutting wood quickly and efficiently.

Electronics

Arduino

Arduino Microcontrollers

Arduino microcontrollers are open source platforms designed for rapid prototyping in hardware and electronics. The Arduino Uno R3 is commonly used for general projects, while the Arduino Micro is ideal when a smaller footprint is required.

  • Open-source and versatile for quick prototyping.
  • Available in Uno R3 and compact Micro versions.
  • Works with many sensors and add-on shields.
Electronics
sensors

Sensors

Various sensors can be integrated with Arduino and other electronics to enhance projects with additional functionality. These sensors can measure a wide range of data, including temperature, distance, and moisture.

  • Detects temperature, distance, and moisture.
  • Includes analog and digital sensor types.
  • Easily connects to Arduino for real-world data.

Safety & Maintenance Gear

Safety glasses

Safety Glasses

Safety glasses, which are required during use of machinery and tools.

Safety
machine guards

Machine Guards

Machine Guards give our machines greater safety when students use them.

Safety
sink

Sinks

Having sinks in the room is essential for certain projecst and allows are students to clean up as needed.

Safety
compressed air

Compressed Air

Compressed air blowers are used for cleaning up and are needed for certain equipment.

Safety
dust collection

Dust Collection

Dust Collection allows students and teachers to use tools that produce a lot of saw dust safely. The saw dust is extracted to an external location.
